The proposed PennEast Pipeline Project will bring affordable natural gas to customers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Pipeline Project was developed in response to market demands in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and interest from shippers that require transportation capacity to accommodate increased demand and greater reliability of natural gas to homes and businesses in the region. As an interstate natural gas pipeline, the PennEast Pipeline Project is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Representing an investment that exceeds $1 billion, this ~120-mile, primarily 36-inch pipeline is designed to deliver over 1 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas per day – enough to serve the equivalent of more than 4.7 million homes. During construction, the PennEast Pipeline will support thousands of jobs. Upon completion of the Project, it is expected natural gas and electric customers will see significant savings from lower transportation costs associated with locally produced, abundant natural gas. Several approvals are required from various state and federal agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Pending timely approvals from all agencies, pipeline construction will begin in 2018 and take approximately seven months to complete.

The PennEast Pipeline will originate in Dallas, Luzerne County, in northeastern Pennsylvania, and terminate at an interconnection with Transco pipeline near Pennington, Mercer County, New Jersey. Capacity will be held by utilities, gas producers and energy suppliers in PA, NJ and NY. Partnership members include:
